New Browser Window

Instead of opening a new browser window by double clicking the browser icon on your taskbar, or desktop, you can use a keyboard shortcut. If you're using Internet Explorer, for example, you can simply press CTRL+N and another browser window will be replicated. Place your cursor at the end of the address bar line, double click, and press the Delete key to clear the address, then type the URL you want to visit. It's quick and easy!
If you are using Firefox browser, you will get a new browser window with you home page in the address bar.


Speed Up Your Computer

Your computer depends on its memory for everything it does. When its memory is full, it either crashes, locks up, or exhibits other less desirable behaviors.
Windows operating systems comes with a special utility known as 'msconfig'. Start this utility by clicking Start, Run, then type 'msconfig' without the single quotes. From the tabs across the top, click the one that says Startup. Each of the boxes represents a program that Windows is loading into memory automatically whenever you start your computer. Uncheck anything you don't want running. Most of the items normally checked off are not absolutely required. Change Your Desktop Wallpaper To A Photo

For some great photos you can try bigfoto.com, FreeFoto.com or type "Free photos" into google.com or the search engine of your choice. Find a Copyright-free photo that you like. Right click the image you've chosen and select 'Set as Wallpaper' or it may say 'as background' from the menu,and click. The image will replace whatever is on your desktop, and be centered. Your desktop icons will not be replaced, just the current wallpaper. will be replaced. You can even tile this picture so that it covers your desktop just like tiles. Try this and see.

  • Right click your desktop.
  • Click properties. (Assume click means left click unless otherwise stated.)
  • In the Display Properties window that appears the Background tab should be automatically selected. If not, click it once.
  • In the Wallpaper box, you'll see "Internet Explorer Wallpaper" selected. There's a drop down box titled 'Display' to the right.
  • Click the drop down box, and choose 'Tile'.
  • Click OK.
    The photo will be tiled, covering your entire screen, instead of being centered. If you want to cover the whole desktop try selecting the 'Stretch' option. How this will look will depend on the size of the original photo. Experiment with the options until you get the look you want.
